  • Level

By the end of the Upper-Intermediate level, students will be able to understand and participate in extended conversations on both familiar and abstract topics with a greater degree of fluency and spontaneity. Instruction focuses on strengthening listening comprehension through exposure to natural-paced speech, varied accents, and more complex language. Students develop strategies such as identifying main ideas, recognizing nuance, and interpreting implied meaning. Speaking activities emphasize sustained interaction and opinion sharing, preparing learners for real-world communication in social, academic, and professional contexts.

Grammar

At this stage, learners build on a solid grammatical foundation to increase accuracy, flexibility, and complexity in their spoken and written English. They practice using a wide range of verb tenses (including present perfect continuous and past perfect), conditionals (zero, first, and second), and modal verbs for deduction, advice, and obligation (e.g., should have, must, might have). Instruction also includes passive voice, relative clauses, indirect questions, and linking expressions for coherence. These structures help learners express opinions, cause-effect relationships, and hypothetical situations with more precision.

Writing

Students at the B2 level learn to produce well-structured, coherent texts for different purposes. They write emails, reports, opinion essays, narratives, and descriptions with increasing independence. Instruction focuses on organization, tone, coherence, and vocabulary expansion, encouraging students to revise their writing and articulate personal viewpoints clearly. Learners begin to express more subtle meaning and to adjust their writing according to audience and context.
