  • Level

By the end of the Advanced level, students will be able to communicate fluently in both social and professional contexts, expressing ideas clearly and persuasively. They can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognize implicit meaning in spoken and written communication. Learners are able to adapt their language style and tone for different audiences and purposes, including academic and workplace situations. This level marks the transition to language proficiency, enabling students to interact with confidence in almost any situation.

Grammar

At this stage, learners refine their control over complex grammatical structures, including mixed conditionals, inversion for emphasis, cleft sentences, and a wide range of modal verbs for nuanced expression (e.g., speculation, criticism, and deduction). They also gain mastery over advanced verb patterns, phrasal verbs, and discourse markers. Grammatical instruction focuses on accuracy, variety, and stylistic flexibility, allowing students to express subtle distinctions in meaning and achieve greater cohesion in both spoken and written output.

Writing

Students develop the skills to produce extended, well-organized texts with precise language and clear argumentative structure. They write essays, reports, proposals, reviews, and formal letters with appropriate register and tone. Instruction emphasizes supporting opinions with evidence, synthesizing information from multiple sources, and using sophisticated vocabulary and cohesive devices. Self-editing and peer review are used to enhance clarity, coherence, and lexical precision.
